Connectpol

The public safety startup Safetroop relies on Dribba for the launch of Connectpol, its first product.

Connectpol

Challenge

The primary challenge for Connectpol was to develop a police management tool that allowed off-duty officers to efficiently and securely receive incident alerts in their area or precinct. It was crucial to find a way to report suspicious activities in real-time while maintaining the anonymity of the officers to protect their identity and ensure their personal safety.

Furthermore, the project faced the challenge of integrating advanced technology to facilitate fast and effective communication between officers and precincts without compromising the privacy or security of information. It was essential to implement a solution that met high-security standards, including compliance with the National Security Framework (ENS).

Another critical aspect was the need for an intuitive and easily accessible platform that could be used by officers on different devices and in various environments. The tool had to be flexible enough to adapt to different situations and robust enough to handle large volumes of data and real-time communications.

Solution

Connectpol emerged as the solution to these challenges, an innovative police management tool developed using Flutter to ensure a seamless user experience on both iOS and Android devices. Additionally, the incorporation of Golang and Kubernetes ensured a robust and scalable backend capable of handling complex operations and large volumes of data.

The application enables off-duty officers to receive alerts for nearby incidents and report suspicious activities anonymously, thus ensuring their safety and privacy. This functionality is complemented by a secure and efficient communication system developed to meet the rigorous requirements of the National Security Framework, ensuring data protection and information confidentiality.

The use of advanced technologies in the development of Connectpol, such as Flutter, Golang, and Kubernetes, not only provided a solid foundation for the application but also allowed exceptional scalability and flexibility. This ensured that the tool could adapt to the changing needs of police management and provide a reliable and efficient solution for real-time communication and reporting challenges.

Result

During the pilot testing phase of Connectpol, we are observing promising results. This crucial stage allows us to assess the effectiveness of the application in real-world conditions, providing valuable insights into how police officers interact with incident alerts and report suspicious activities. These tests are essential for fine-tuning and improving the application before its large-scale deployment.

The initial indicators from the pilot phase suggest a significant improvement in responsiveness and operational efficiency. Officers participating in the test are reporting a positive experience with the platform, highlighting its user-friendliness, speed in receiving alerts, and effectiveness in anonymous reporting. These initial observations are critical for making adjustments and ensuring that Connectpol fully meets operational and security needs.

The pilot phase is also serving to validate the robustness of the underlying technology and Connectpol's compliance with the National Security Framework. As we gather and analyze data from this phase, we are in a better position to make necessary improvements, ensuring that once fully launched, Connectpol is a secure, reliable, and effective tool in police management and the enhancement of public safety.
