The daily tool for members of Comisiones Obreras (CCOO)
Challenge
Developing a mobile application for one of the largest unions in Spain is not an easy task. The main challenge faced by Dribba was the need to consolidate a large amount of varied and relevant information into a single platform that was both intuitive and accessible to all users.
The CCOO application needed to be a complete resource center where members could find everything necessary, from schedules and notifications to specific resources and calendars.
Additionally, the project included a significant technical challenge: the creation of customized modules for the different companies and company unions affiliated. Each module had to adapt to the specific information and functionality needs of each entity, ensuring that the app was not only universal for all CCOO affiliates but also particularly relevant to the individual needs of each group.
Solution
We have developed the CCOO application with the goal of centralizing and simplifying the management of union information. This tool is designed to adapt to the specific needs of different companies and affiliated unions, offering modular and customized solutions. Each module is designed to provide relevant and specific information, facilitating access to documents, union news, and details of labor agreements. The app also includes features such as customizable calendars, salary consultations, and permit procedures, all within a secure and easy-to-use environment.
The selection of technologies has been key to meeting the goals of flexibility and efficiency:
- Flutter: The choice of Flutter for the development of the mobile application is no coincidence. This technology has allowed us to develop an intuitive and attractive user interface that adapts to both iOS and Android without compromising quality, functionality, or performance. Flutter facilitates the implementation of customized modules for each union, allowing for efficient updates and scalability, which is crucial in an environment as varied as that of the unions and companies affiliated with CCOO.
- GoLang: For integration with CCOO's existing systems, as well as for creating highly flexible modules, GoLang has been chosen. This programming language is known for its efficiency in handling systems that require high performance. GoLang has been essential in ensuring that the integration of systems is secure and reliable, also facilitating a back-end architecture that supports the dynamism of the application.
- Next.js: For the backoffice, Next.js has been implemented, allowing CCOO managers to handle content, union news, and various app functionalities from a central platform.
Result
With the launch of the new application for the largest union in Spain, which has more than one million affiliates, we have observed promising results in the first few days after the launch. The CCOO App has been received with great enthusiasm, achieving more than 4,000 downloads in a short period of time. This is just the beginning, and we anticipate significant evolution of the project in the coming months.
